Sometimes some of us get to make a difference in the world, to know that our lives really matter. A decade ago, I got the chance to get become friends with one of them, and find out how much work it was.
The Dream Thieves, by Maggie Stiefvater, is about wanting to have a life that matters, and how hard a marvelously mis-matched yet cohesive group of friends try to get there. And about the nightmare things that may stand in their way.
The Dream Thieves is also one of the nominees for the Detcon1 YA SF Award. Voting closes on Sunday, June 22nd. If you are a member of Detcon1 and have not yet read The Raven Boys, and The Dream Thieves, which is its sequel, I encourage you to check them out. Then vote!
