Well, conveniently enough... we are looking to hire 2 people by March. Exact positions unclear, but one of them will likely be a research position. Care to work up another resume? Or better yet, perhaps I can just set you up for a lunch with Jeannine, then you two can talk and see if she thinks there's a place for your skills - I think you come across much stronger in person than on paper, so might as well start there.

Let me know if you want me to pursue this (and think you can stand working with me!)

*smile* I'm quite comfortable with it now, especially since I'll no longer be your assistant chair by March.

I think this is a lovely idea. I can put together a new resume and a cover letter, but I also think your offer of arranging a lunch is a splendid one. I'm free for lunch today, friday, next monday, tuesday, thursday and friday. I could also do an early lunch on Wednesday, say around 11, but I'd prefer another day.

If you could get me a better idea of what responsibilities it might entail, I can put together a better application.

(thank you very much. this means a lot. especially, I'm glad to know you aren't sick of working with me... :) )

This is why I'm thinking a lunch will be better - there's really no set job description - a lot of what people end up being hired to do depends on what strengths they bring to the company. So the way I see it, is you do the lunch, and if you and Jeannine agree that our needs and yours match, then you create a resume that you think highlights those strengths.

I'll see what I can set up and get back to you!
