The mystery of why this power circuit goes out some days at 8:05 am continues...

(if it went out every day, it would be easier. Bill thinks the safety on the ground fault interupt plug in the bedroom is too touchy)

so, yesterday I kept a journal all day of time spent on job applications vs other things. I also applied to some 7 places.. not all of which are hiring right now.

planning to apply to at least two places in person today. Washtenaw country has a grant funded Management Analyst position I'll try for. being on the PTSO in high school should count as experience in public administration, right?

we're making good progress on the reformation of my DDR softpad into something more like a hard pad - the softpad is taped to a plywood board size and shaped to fit it, and we have vinyl over the bottom half of the board.. not decided exactly how to proceed with the rest of the vinyl, wether or not overlapping is evil. We're hoping maybe Rikhei can come over some time and help us decide.

tonight is the pink slip party at arbor brewing company, 5-7. after that, juggling in East hall.

MoveOn is encouraging people to call our senators to block the nomination of Miguel Estrada to federal appeals court judge. They call him a "stealth right-wing extremist who has never served as a judge, and who has taken pains to hide his views on the law from the public." call your senators and encourage them to block the nomination. For michigan residents, that's:

Senator Carl Levin
DC Phone: 202-224-6221

Senator Debbie Stabenow
DC Phone: 202-224-4822

and, of course, everyone is encouraged to let pres. Bush know their opinion on going to war. get that mesage to him at

President George Bush
White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20500

or by calling 202-456-1111 (white house comment line) 9 am to 5 pm EST.
