Did learn a lesson at the party - do not suggest people bring stuff to grill during a movie marathon when it's not possible to see the movie screen from the grill. We never did cook burgers, but luckily there was plenty of ribs and corn.
Tonight I got the dishes under control, went for a nice walk to get milk and a bite to eat (made a short stop by Nicola's to ask them to let me know when Territory arrives), and came home and watched a couple of the episodes of Firefly we didn't get to yesterday. I also started in on the third volume of The Collected Stories of Robert Silverberg, which I am proofing for Bill Schafer.
I'm a bit blue lately, so it's good to have friends around and work to do. And great weather! It was quite lovely out tonight. Pregnant with possibilities and a touch of the philosophical. Appropriate to the song I was quoting in the title. Here's the chorus:
You can be anybody you want to be,
You can love whomever you will.
You can travel any country where your heart leads
and know I will love you still.
You can live by yourself, you can gather friends around
You can love one special one.
And the only measure of your words, and your deeds,
Will be the love you leave behind when you're done.
(hums through the next verse, to the best line:)
You can dream all your days, never reaching the end, of Everything Possible for you.
