You've heard of flip-phones? Well, mine seems to have flipped. The outer screen has, anyway.

The time was 9:16. The date is April 5.

Each individual letter or symbol on the screen is upside-down. The symbols that are normally at the top are at the bottom. But just turning the phone around and looking at it up-side-down doesn't really help.

I have never seen this before. I didn't drop it or anything, so I don't have any idea what caused this. The scary part is, it's been a couple days, and I'm starting to be able to read it.

How totally bizarre.

If you turn the phone upside down, then look at it in a mirror, does *that* make it fully readable?

Not that I'm recommending it as an ongoing mode of use... I'm just curious.

No. That would make the letters and numbers face the right way, but they'd still be in the wrong order.

That is extraordinarily peculiar. Have you tried rebooting it?

Well, I wanted to take pictures first. :)

I rebooted it this morning and it came back up with a normal display (how droll!)

Very odd yes. I'm assuming just normal off & on doesn't fix this. Have you tried turning off, then removing the battery, and seeing if that resets things? Assuming, of course, you want it reset -- rather than to keep it this way as a conversation piece.

It was fun to have as a conversation piece, but yes, I reset it this morning with off and on.

Interesting. A benign virus perhaps? Have you checked any of the phone forums for this behavior?

Could it have been an April fools prank?

I didn't particularly notice the onset coinciding with April 1, but it could have been.
