If you're not going to ConFusion and you're up at midnight...|
Good luck getting there. And good luck at the game or con or both.
Thanks! We had a pretty good game. We were up against the best team in the league - younger, faster, and better than us. Their speed and a terrific passing game combined with having 5 more substitutes than we did might have wiped us out completely except there's actually a rule that if one team is five players down they can have an extra player out on the field - makes up for the other team's fresh legs a bit to be able to hand someone off instead of trying to keep up with them. As it was, we managed to score three or four goals to their, um, ten? we felt pretty good about that.
For myself I was probably most proud of two moments - a strong pass down the field to one of our forwards where we scored two beats later, and a moment in the midfield where two of their players thought to pass me by passing between my legs and a moment later they'd both overshot me and I'd actually caught the ball between my feet.
Knew the snow would hit today in time for the convention. :-)
well, you know, of course. :)
Sounds like a good game. :-)
It's a nice facility. Played in one of the adult leagues a few years back when there were people from my office interested in soccer. I'd walk there from home for the games since I live across Scio in the Ravines (fall league, so no snow).
And as to snow ... you need to arrive at the convention early Friday, before the snow hits. I'm holding down the fort at home and doing house work (my wife just left to help with a gymnastics class and my youngest has a sleepover tonight). So no convention for me.
