There's a blood shortage on in hospitals. Now that your blood pressure is going down anyway, why not help it along by donating a pint?

I'm off to donate some right now, myself.

I'm already planning to do it on Friday

Central Texas Regional Blood Center loves me (and all O- people who don't tend to be anemic). As soon as I'm past 8 weeks, they give me a call like clockwork.

I once got a call before I was eligible!

One year I timed it so that I could give the maximum number possible within a calendar year. It's seven.

yeah, they call me before I'm eligible. I'm O+. They called me monday to say I was about to be eligible and they were completely out of O+ and when could I come in?

I do my best to switch arms so the scars don't get too thick.

There's a "two gallon member" mug sitting proudly (if somewhat risque-ly) on my desk. I was going to donate today, but I am full of plague.

Next time you are going let me know. Apparently there is no recommendation against giving blood while you are nursing. I have never donated blood before, but since they drew several viles for tests a the beginning of my pregnancy I suspect I can handle giving blood. I'd appreciate having a buddy with me.
