Heh. Thanks, actually, this is a picture from today. It's kind of weird, actually, because in 1995 I started to grow my bangs out and since around 2001 (after a period with really short hair) all the hair around my face has been long enough to pull back. Oddly enough, I switched back to bangs for an older, more professional look, yet it's a return to how I looked in college, so to me and people who knew me then it's kind of a throwback to a younger me.
However, that younger me was often mistaken for being older than she was, whereas the me of a month ago, who nearly always pulled her hair back in a barrette or a ponytail, was often mistaken as being 5 to 10 years younger than I am. I'd gotten a little sick of that.
I will look older once the dyed parts of my hair grow out and get cut off - I had my hair highlighted lighter blond to play Buffy a couple years ago and then had to dye my hair subsequent times as the highlighted part grew out, to blend it with my natural color, which is an ever-darkening light brown, now just starting to be flecked with grey.
