Brian and Anne

A bit of Quiet and Rest

Went Canoing with some work folks on Friday, leading up to a company picnic in Gallup park where we had fun relay races and other games. It had been far too long since I'd last been out in a canoe. It was nice but not as peaceful as when Bill and I went canoing up in Canada - more development and people cutting lawns and stuff here. More woods there. There we saw Herons. Here we saw Ducks and Geese.

What with the canoing and other activities of the week, I was exausted by the end of Friday and on Saturday I decided to take a by and not do any of the things I had planned to do in the morning and afternoon. Instead I stayed in bed most of the day with Kushiel's Chosen, by Jacqueline Carey. In the evening I made a long-overdue trip to the grocery store, and then went over to elizilla's house by her invitation, to spend a quiet evening with her and rikhei and devon. We had dinner at the Pita Hut (they have really good Hummus) and talked and measured our hair (mine is 29 inches long at the longest). It was nice.
