rest and peace

Last night, full of plans to get work done, I feel asleep around 8. It was tremendously relaxing and wonderful.

My sister forwarded this prayer in a chain mail "make a wish" thingy. I don't believe in chain mail thingies but it's a nice meditation prayer, so I thought I'd share it:

St. Theresa's Prayer: May today there be peace within. May you trust your
highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you
not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use
those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been
given to you... May you be content knowing you are a child of God... Let
this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to
sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you.

What I want for my birthday

My birthday is December 4 (1974).

Every year my mom asks me to make a birthday wish list. This year some others have asked too, and I actually have some things, so here goes:

  • Books of Poetry - I only have an Emily Dickinson collection and a couple falling apart volumes from the Harvard Classics collection. And just this past weekend we brought home Bill's copies Of Shel Silverstein's 3 collections of poetry for kids. I would like more poetry. Yes this is at the top of my list for a reason.
