Yesterday I got lots of housework done, and then worked out, and then we went over to mom and dad's for a really nice dinner out on the deck.
After dinner we went to see The Constant Gardener.
It wasn't what I was expecting. Mom had said something about a spy movie. This is not your summer blockbuster where there are lots of explosions and everyone who dies is inconsequential. This is a touching, dramatic movie where people have faces. Many of the faces shown were african, as the movie is ultimately about what big drug companies were doing there.
We stepped out of the movie quiet and sad. I leaned against a pillar and found that the faces of the african children and babies and people in hospitals were transforming in my head into the faces of babies and children and people in retirement homes dying in NOLA and surrounding areas. And I cried.
I know I was tired and distracted when we got home because I left the nice leftovers in a bag in the kitchen and forgot to put them away.
back to work today.
