yesterday I got the top right-hand part of our bookshelf completely sanded; today I will do the bottom half.

Tammy sent me the first draft of the first ConFusion 2003 progress report and I got comments back to her.

It was Sue Ellen's deadline day for getting pocket program stuff in, so I did some editing.

I finished reading Rudy Rucker's book The Hacker and the Ants. it was entertaining and interesting, but for most of it it would only hold my attention for a little while and then I would put it down and go do something else.

I finally received an income tax refund from the Canadian government. That helps. I think Bill still hasn't gotten his. They even paid me some interest, it was so late in coming. I'm not going to snub my nose at an extra 4 bucks. well, three bucks once we exchange the money.

Rudy Rucker

That was my thought on the novel too. I re-read the novel recently, and entertained myself looking for interesting places where he missed technical details and/or plot glitches. Not the best written novel in existence, but entertaining. The ants didn't behave very believably.

Have you read much by Ken Macleod? He has the most believable malicious AI I've ever seen. It's actually more creepy and frightening than any of the other 'evil computer' stories I've read.
