I can't wait to use the devices he describes. I'm also reminded of all the attention currently given to various other technologies that will bring computing out of cyberspace and into the world around us.

- Augmented reality, superimposing virtual tags onto the environment, received a great leap forward recently with the improvement of software that can interpret a 2D camera image as the 3D scene it represents.
- Radio chips can be used as bar code transmitters on objects.
- There are currently mobile phones in Europe that can hail whatever taxi is nearest.
- Cory Doctorow predicted that cars would run a peer-to-peer network on the highway, and recently one person started broadcasting short-range FM from an iPod in his car, trying to start a trend of people announcing their own radio station frequency on a bumper sticker.
