well, I assume so...
Interestingly enough, though, this is the first con where I ended up helping Neil and didn't have any interaction with Lorraine about it at all. On Monday when Neil asked about my going with to see him to the train station, he made some comment about how that way I could see that my obligation to Lorraine was properly fulfilled, and it occurred to me that this was the first con where I hadn't promised Lorraine I would take good care of him - that is, I hadn't said anything to her about it one way or another. It's not that I don't like Lorraine or was avoiding talking to her about it, but I ended up doing this sort of a result of Neil's comment that Lorraine doesn't like Cons and tries to spare him them. So he asked me to contact Patricia Olson and have her contact Neil directly about her schedule, which I did, and then Patricia asked if she should cc: me on the conversation, and I said I didn't know if or how I might be helping him since I would be busy with SFOHA but two of us knowing things sounded better than one, and then I asked and answered some questions when they came up and later I sent Neil his schedule as I knew it and pretty soon Neil was referring questions about his schedule to me and honestly, if we're looking back at it, I never told Neil I would assist him for the weekend, and I don't think he ever asked me if I would.
Once we got to the con, he did ask me to do some specific errands, and make specific scheduling decisions, and with regard to a couple things he said things like "I'm going to need you to get me there," presumably because he didn't know where "there" was - so I either got him there or recruited someone else to do it, namely Davey Snyder. Davey also caught a scheduling error I'd made that luckily Neil listed on his blog the wednesday before the con, enough time for us to smooth it out the next morning before I left for Boston and went off email. I gave her an extra hug for that.
I get the impression the Neil likes cons and just has to be throttled back so he does not over do things.
Based on his Penguicon experience. I hope Mythcon and Norescon were less hectic.
Anyway its time to start thinking Confusion again.

He does like cons, but he is not that good at keeping track of things. Like what time it is, for instance, or when he's scheduled to do stuff. And lots of people want to see him, and he wants to see them, and it can definitely get hectic.
I think we did a pretty good job of keeping the feel of things not too hectic this past weekend, though the last day he kept passing people and stopping to say "I had no idea you were here!" so it's clear that if he could have fit more visiting with people into his schedule he would have.
His official con schedule was much less hectic than penguicon, but the other professional and personal meetings amd meals he wanted to have were more numerous.
